REO BROTHERS ! (From Tacloban, Leyte!)

REO BROTHERS is a local band composed of four young talented brothers: Reno (drums), RJ (lead guitar), Raymart (rhythm) and Ralp (bass guitar), who hail from typhoon-ravaged city of Tacloban. Their music had inspired and wowed people from around the country, as they convey message of hope amidst the healing and recovery following the tragedy that has shattered Southern Philippines, when killer typhoon "Yolanda" (International Name: "Haiyan") wreaked havoc in the region.

"NEW BEATLES MANIA IN MANILA?" - Forty eight years after the Beatles' "scare-to-death" experience in the Philippines, when mob attacked and brutalized their group in 1966, after they snubbed the invitation of the then young First Lady Imelda Marcos who gathered a group of children in Malacanang Palace to meet the Beatles, the "Fab Four" mania seems to hit the country anew, thanks to the REO Brothers. The snub by the Beatles (who were having a concert in the Philippines at the time) then triggered a public outrage, which escalated to violent protests which posed eminent dangers to the lives of the group. Their manager attacked and beaten by the mob, people shouting and spitting on them, armed military and police being deployed to control the situation, the Beatles, protected by nuns, then left their hotel, and hurriedly fled the country, kissing their seats on the plane with huge relief, and never to return to the Philippines.
